Description:
You can find the improvements our editorial team has made throughout the whole edition. Regarding the Russian Empire, we discovered a new type variation of the postage stamps “State Coat of Arms (Post Horns with Flashes)” with the centre piece missing. Collectors of novelties, however, will marvel at the stamps issued by the Russian Federation because 225 new main MICHEL numbers have been added since the previous edition – making this the largest increase in this collection area for years! The issues of the Soviet Union have also provided several surprises: We were able to record ten new type variations of stamps issued between 1925 and 1989. So collectors should look for watermarks that are upside down and perforations that look different or are even missing.
The revision and updating of price quotations was another focal point. Popular stamps issued by the RSFSR have continued to increase in value. We have also adjusted a large number of appraisals of issues from the Russian Federation. In particular, interesting motifs in mint condition have seen an increase in value. Yet the stamps issued in the Soviet Union between 1923 and 1945 have also shown a number of higher price quotations regarding cancelled specimens as well as type variations. Therefore a closer look at your own collection may well pay off.
This edition includes all novelties catalogued in MICHEL Rundschau up to and including No. 10/2024.
