Apennine Peninsula 2026 (E 5)
Content:Fiume, Italy, San Marino, Trieste (Zone A), Vatican City.
Description:
You will find our editorial improvements throughout the entire edition. Regarding issues from Italy, we discovered two new perforation variations: concerning MiNo. 1280 and MiNo. 1846, we have made a distinction between variants A and C. And we have indicated the recent increases in postage with a corresponding inset.
High-priced stamps were examined specially closely. In particular, the price quotations of Italian issues from the 1930s to the 1950s have been adjusted to reflect current market trends. Some issues from Fiume have seen continuous price increases.
We have noted a surprising development regarding issues from San Marino: the mass-produced stamps from the 1960s and 1970s are slowly starting to increase in value, while the prices of expensive items are declining slightly. In addition to that, we were able to add some first-day covers for the years of 1892 to 1922.
Obtaining issues from Vatican City continues to be extremely difficult following the restructuring of the dispatch office. To provide our readers with an overview, we have compiled a table that lists the novelties which have been difficult to find.
This edition features all novelties recorded in MICHEL Rundschau up to and including No. 4/2026.
