Description:
This catalog has been comprehensively revised. Regarding Canadian issues, for instance, the cataloging of stamp booklets was adjusted and standardized, so that collectors will now find the desired information much easier. And we thoroughly reviewed the appraisals of stamps issued in the United States and updated them in line with market conditions. In order to meet the increased demand for good-quality stamps, we have now started to quote prices for issues in mint condition as of 1918. Until now this only applied to stamps from 1930 onward. It’s safe to say that, due to an increased awareness of quality – based on the principle that “quality sells” – particularly classic stamps in good condition are now in demand.
In the collection area of contemporary stamps, we have adjusted price quotations primarily for roll stamps and issues that feature a “Love” motif. In particular, the “Forever” issues, i.e. postage stamps for domestic letters in the 1st weight category, which are still valid even after an increase in postage fees, have shown an increase in value. This is due to the fact that their postage value has nearly doubled from the initial cost of 44 U.S. cents. Moreover, this collection area has also undergone a number of editorial improvements, such as cross-references to the place of discovery of each booklet stamp that have been added to the corresponding footnotes.
All novelties that came to our attention prior to the editorial deadline are presented in this edition, allowing issues up to 2025 to be included.
