Description: The latest edition of the MICHEL Germany catalogue is especially dedicated to the beauty and expressiveness of Württemberg postage stamps because, for the first time, all main MICHEL numbers are depicted in colour – this will make it even easier for you to identify your own finds. The Memel Region, occupied Albania and the collection area of Thuringia after World War Two are presented in numerous new colour photos as well; nearly all main MICHEL numbers are depicted for the first time. The latest issues of the German Postal System have been recorded in text and pictures up to and including June of 2025. Almost 500 new, high-resolution photos were created for the 2025/2026 MICHEL Germany catalogue. Quite frankly: What appeal would a key coat of arms, a Hepburn stamp that has never been issued or a stamp in honour of German places of interest have without a picture to go with it?

Speaking of special features: Many issues listed in MICHEL are not only beautiful or valuable – they are also rare. For example, six new main MICHEL numbers issued in France during the occupation are featured in this 2025/2026 edition; only one specimen of each stamp is known to exist, making them even more rare than the Blue and Orange Mauritius.

Dear readers, in future editions of our MICHEL catalogues, we will share more information about rarities of the “Mauritius class” with you than we could just by cataloging stamps. In this volume we have included fascinating stories about the history of special stamps in addition to the catalogue entries. You have probably already noticed the “Mauritius signet” on the cover. It marks the texts we are contributing to the Mauritius class segments in the catalogue.

Of course, most special stamps come at a price. While we were revising the assessments for 2025, we found the most striking price fluctuations in the collection areas of Old Germany, the Weimar Republic, stamp booklets from the colonies, occupation during World Wars One and Two, plebiscite areas, Belgian military post, Eupen and Malmédy, Port Gdansk, Sudetenland, local issues starting in 1945, AM Post as well as the youth stamps and the complete years of issue of stamps from the Federal Republic of Germany.
