Iberian Peninsula 2026 (E 4)
Content:Andorra (span.), Portugal, Spain.
Description:
This entire edition has seen editorial improvements. Regarding issues from Portugal, we were able to describe the paper types on which the postage stamps that bear the portrait of King Manuel II were printed in the year of 1910 more precisely. This makes it easier for collectors to differentiate between the sub-numbers.
The first day covers (FDCs) of the Europe stamps from Portugal and the sub-territories of the Azores and Madeira have been revised, making it visible at first glance which official FDCs feature stamps of only one collection area and which are trio FDCs that feature stamps from all three areas.
High-value items were reviewed specially closely. We have particularly adjusted the appraisals of the Portuguese issues from the 1920s to the 1950s to reflect current market trends.
Concerning issues from Spain, the description of the so-called “Pruebas de artistas” has been expanded to facilitate the distinction between valid postage stamps and “artist’s proofs”. This enables collectors to identify more efficiently which items are invalid for postage and which are valid postage blocks.
This edition lists all novelties presented in MICHEL Rundschau up to and including No. 3/2026.
