The latest edition of the 2024/2025 MICHEL Overseas Volume 9.2 Japan and Korea features the stamps issued by the Japanese territories, including its occupation issues and the Ryukyu Islands, as well as all Korean issues including North and South Korea. The enormous increase in pages due to novelties has made it necessary to divide the contents even further, so that the former Soviet republics in Asia can now be found in Volume 9.3, which is published simultaneously, and Mongolia will be featured in the next edition of Volume 9.1.
As is the case with every new edition of a MICHEL catalogue, all descriptions as well as the prices have been carefully revised and updated if necessary. In addition, the North Korean stamps that were not officially issued are numbered for the first time in this catalogue so as to provide a better overview, and they are presented in the form of data sets in accordance with our current system. Therefore all collection areas have now been updated. While editing this edition, we were able to replace several old photos with high-resolution scans. Thus numerous new colour photos have been added throughout this edition, in particular regarding the 1980s issues from North Korea. The 2024/2025 MICHEL Japan and Korea is nearly entirely in colour, providing an even better and more convenient overview to collectors than previous editions.
All novelties we learned about prior to the editorial deadline have been included in this edition, so that, depending on the information available, novelties issued up to the year of 2024 have been taken into consideration.
