product description

Plate Flaws Federal Republic of Germany/Berlin (2nd edition)

Content:

All currently listed stamps of the Federal Republic of Germany and Berlin, which have plate errors. This edition features all currently recorded issues from the Federal Republic of Germany and Berlin that show plate flaws. Plate flaws are deviations from the standard stamp design caused by flawed printing plates. They increase the value of a stamp collection, adding depth and highlights. Stamps with plate flaws that may even be visually prominent are fascinating curiosities that enrich any collection – not despite the flaw, but because of it.

Description: In addition to the striking plate flaw on the Joseph Beuys stamp, numerous others have been added, such as the black “fly” on Federal Republic MiNumber 3821 or the small “lamprey” on Federal Republic MiNumber 3867. However, all previously recorded plate flaws have been closely examined as well and evaluated regarding their nature and their prices. We were able to add numerous interesting initial value assessments.
