Description:
- Our editorial improvements can be found throughout the whole edition. The French Postal System of Andorra recently published new postage stamps of the ”Coat of Arms of Andorra“ series, which, in addition to a smaller format, feature a different printing process and have been classified as new main numbers.
- Collectors specializing in French novelties are in for a pleasant surprise since the French Postal System has outdone itself once again as compared to last year. We were able to list 345 new MICHEL numbers and 865 new price quotations in France alone. The postal system has increasingly been using motifs of old engraved-recess prints from the 1940s to the 1960s for their new issues. We provide several detailed hyperlinks to make it easier for our readers to locate issues with the same motifs. Marianne, the symbolic figure that stands for France, received a brush-up. Olivier Balez created a contemporary motif for the postage stamp series. We can report an interesting novelty in the popular ”flaws on stamp“ category: The inscriptions “Italie” and “France” were mixed up on the respective images of the rainbow stamp booklet issued in January of 2023.
- In Monaco we discovered a double overprint on a postage stamp from 1946. The price quotation of this new type variation has been in the five-digit range from the start. In addition, we now indicate the number of envelopes of official FDCs if there is more than just one.
- This edition contains all novelties introduced in MICHEL Rundschau up to and including No. 3/2024.
