From 2025 to 2035, Germany will issue a new commemorative coin series titled “Prägende Frauen” (“Women Who Have Shaped Germany”) at a nominal value of 20 euros each. The 2 euro coin “35 Years of German Unity” is the start of the new series “Unity and Justice and Liberty”, issuing a 2-euro commemorative coin annually to honor politicians who have shaped the history of the Federal Republic of Germany in significant ways. Once again the novelties of the year of 2024 issued by all participating euro states were recorded with the corresponding editions and prices for collectors of 2-euro commemorative coins. This has turned MICHEL into an indispensable reference work for collectors of this area.
The tendency of the coin market to pay high prices for coins in above-average condition has continued. This is also reflected in the price quotations contained in this edition of the catalogue. The development of the gold price has also been taken into account regarding the gold coins. The section German-East-Africa emergency coins has been completely revised as new variations of the 5- and 20-heller coins and the 15-rupee gold coin have been discovered, which are bound to be of great interest to collectors.
The price quotations for the coins have been adjusted to market conditions. To the extent that the circulation numbers of the euro commemorative coins have been published, these have been complemented and the issues of 2025 have been included. Regarding German coins, this catalogue also features a preview of the planned issues of 2025 as well as the programme of 2026 issues.
